2nd Reflection

In English, we are working on a project for the book, Romeo and Juliet. My group is remaking scene five. We chose to make the theme of our script superheros, like Batman(my favorite), Superman, Catwoman, The Green Lantern, etc. We also included the characters from Watchman. In math class we've been learning how to factor! Yay. How much fun...
I've just finished a book called Cujo a few days ago. It's by Stephen King, and was not very scary, but very good. I thought it was well written and kept the reader on the edge of their seats. I've now started another book called The Host. It's taking a little while to get going, but that's okay.
Everything is going great this week. :) Bye

P.S. I can't wait till the trip to COLORADO in MARCH!!!

1st Reflection

The last two weeks of my life, I have been learning about Africa!!! I've learned their economy is not so good. :( Poor Africa. Also, I've been learning about evolution in biology, which has cause some disagreement among my classmates. Some people do not agree with the theory of evolution and have made some distruptive comments in class.
Also, everyone has had to deal with choice sheets the last week or so. This has stressed me out a great deal. My parents and me did not agree on what I should take at first, but we then found a solution. I've had a hard time desiding because what I deside now effects my future. Finally we figured out what classes I will be taking next year.
Other than the things I mentioned above, nothing much has happened the last two weeks. :)

2nd Assisgnment

Global warming has caused schools around the world to change to try to help make the environment better. For example some schools have put in solar panels, to conserve light. Our school keep recycling bins literally everywhere around the school. Instead of just throwing away paper into the trash can, where it never gets reused, we throw our unused paper into the recycling bins that are kept in every classroom. Also, we have many clubs around school that help battle against global warming, such as the Green Club. Our school works to help against global warming everyday. :)

1st Assignment

1st Topic:
What kinds of technology do you use (in school, for entertainment, at home) and how have they changed the way you live? Which new technological innovation would you put in the same catergory as the invention of fire or electricity?

The technology I use most everyday is my Iphone and my Ipod. I don't watch much TV anymore, but I use the computer a lot. In school, we use TVs and computers. At home we use the microwave, phone, TV, lights, and the coffee maker!!! I use my phone to check almost everything from the weather to stocks, it's all right in my phone.
Having all this technology makes life much easier. Microwaves make 5 minute meals, coffee is made quicker, news is spread by the Internet and our TVs, and communication is made easier by having cell phones and the Internet. The down side of having so much technology is it makes us very dependent on it. If something were to happen to our technology, we might be in a state of disaster. Also, watching TV, listening to Ipods, and talking on cell phones all the time affects our hearing, sight, and brain function. We don't play many board games because there are so many game systems, which usually involve staring at the television. This could also cause separation between families.

I would put the Iphone in the same catagory as fire and electricty because it's like a little computer in a compact little case. It has internet, phone, email, clocks, calculators, games, etc. With the Iphone, you can do basically anything on it.

(Picture has to do with Iphone and Politics!!! Yay!)
